The Alliance’s 2026 Power of Storytelling program supports the next generation of creatives in
celebration of NBC’s 100th anniversary
Brooklyn, NY – January 20, 2025 – Ten emerging creative producers have been selected to receive $5,000 grants and the opportunity to create a 30-second promotional spot highlighting NBC’s 100th anniversary. Each piece will draw from NBC’s rich archive, using iconic footage to celebrate a century of firsts and look ahead to a bright future of storytelling. “We are grateful to NBCUniversal for supporting Power of Storytelling programming, and providing such a unique opportunity for emerging filmmakers to build their creative careers.”
In addition to funding, grantees will receive editorial support and mentorship from award winning filmmakers, Arts2Work mentors and industry veterans, and access to creative career workshops throughout the grant period. This program receives core funding from Comcast NBCUniversal and the Upwork Foundation.“As we commemorate NBC’s 100th anniversary, we’re continuing to invest in the next generation of creative talent,” said Hilary Smith, Executive Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at NBCUniversal. “Through the Power of Storytelling program and our partnership with The Alliance for Media Arts + Culture, these grantees will gain mentorship, resources, and opportunities to develop their creative skills while crafting original work that celebrates our legacy and shapes the future of storytelling.”
For the fourth consecutive year, Comcast NBCUniversal has partnered with The Alliance for Media Arts + Culture to support early career storytellers in communities across the country.
