#NoKidsinPrison

#NoKidsinPrison is a cultural organizing initiative of Performing Statistics, an organization based in Richmond, VA that uses art to model, imagine and advocate for alternatives to youth incarceration by lifting up the voices of youth most impacted by the justice system through art and culture. Their #NoKidsinPrison digital experience is a mixed media project created by young people in Performing Statistics programs over the past six years.

Through an immersive, interactive web experience, young people guide the viewer on a journey to understand the effects of incarceration on kids, their families, and all of us. Statistical data and historical facts are juxtaposed with art, film, and audio created by youth impacted by the justice system. The journey concludes with a compelling vision for how we move beyond the youth prison model and take action towards creating a better world.
