Jennifer MacArthur is a multi-platform communications, distribution and engagement strategist with a focus on social issue documentary. Her background spans nearly 20 years working in radio, film and television, digital media, and publishing. In 2008 she founded Borderline Media. Borderline’s strategic design work includes SOUTHERN RITES (HBO, 2015), OUT IN THE NIGHT (POV, 2015), GIDEON’S ARMY (HBO, 2013), and TRACES OF THE TRADE (POV, 2008), WORLD Channel, and the ITVS social TV player OVEE. Jennifer has advised on numerous other films, including 3 1/2 MINUTES (2015), AMERICAN PROMISE (POV, 2014), DIRTY WARS (IFC, 2013), and VALENTINE ROAD (HBO, 2013).

A sought-after expert on media engagement, Jennifer has produced workshops for ITVS Community Cinema; been invited industry for Sundance Industry Meetings; and participates in TFI’s Interactive Media Impact Working Group. She established the Impact Producers Group and launched Impact Socials, a networking event for creative change-makers. Borderline has co-hosted Impact Social events with POV, Sundance, Skoll Foundation, and BRITDOC. An emerging thought-leader in the field, Jennifer is a 2015 Rockwood JustFilms Fellow. She also was selected for NAMAC’s 2015 Creative Leadership Lab at Sundance and BRITDOC’s 2012 Impact Producers Retreat.

Previously, Jennifer held positions at the National Center for Media Engagement, StoryCorps, Link TV, and Village Voice Media. She is a graduate of The New School film program, and lives and works in Brooklyn USA.
