STEPHEN BRODBAR

US Trustee and Director of Education, Cool Earth Action USA
STEPHEN BRODBAR

Stephen has experienced the field of education from three distinct perspectives: as a teacher in the New York City Public School system, as an instructor designing curriculum and professional development programs at the American Museum of Natural History and as a science education consultant in Standards based curriculum and STEM Education reform with schools throughout the United States, Peru, France and Southeast Asia. His interests include bringing scientists and teachers together in professional development settings to see the effects on pedagogy. Stephen is the Founding Director of the Cool Earth Teacher Fellowship, a program that supports the personal and professional development of secondary school teachers by providing expeditionary learning experiences in the Amazon Rainforest with scientists from the United States and Peru. Stephen is preparing to use this program as the basis for a future doctoral research.
