Valentina holds a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and political science and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan with a focus on health disparities, the health impacts of migration, and health communications. Previously, Valentina was Project Manager of Poder Sano HIV Community Mobilization at Farmworker Justice. As part of the Poder Sano team, Valentina did community building and digital engagement activities, assessed capacity building and training needs, and planned community mobilization activities for rural Latinoserving organizations. Before Farmworker Justice, Valentina was Program Manager for the Health & Safety Programs at the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs (AFOP) where she focused on outreach, publications, health communications, and curriculum design for occupational health and safety issues for farmworkers. Valentina has a passion for storytelling and speaks English, Spanish, German, and Dutch.
