Policy Fellow USAID Africa Bureau Dr. Marit Wilkerson is a second year AAAS S&T Policy Fellow serving at USAID as a Climate Change Advisor in the Africa Bureau. There she specializes in climatesmart agriculture as well as overall integration of climate change for international development. Prior to the Fellowship, she worked on urban conservation and ecosystem services with University of Queensland Australia and her awardwinning dissertation, completed in 2013, centered on invasive plants in landscape linkages. The major connecting piece between all of her research and career directions has been her drive to connect people to nature.
