Brazil Country Director, The Lion Shade Group
John Wesley Days, Jr. is an educator, multi-media artist, facilitator, musician, and Brazil Country Director for The Lion Shade Group. His area of expertise includes group process facilitation, intercultural communication and global project management with a focus on mediating manifestations of conflict by creating conditions conducive to uproot its causes over the long term. From his work with the United Nations to his contributions in numerous global non-governmental organizations, Wesley is well-practiced in generating opportunities to reveal the interactive complexity of conflict that expose us to a world of uncertainty. His work remains consistently innovative, motivated by the need for greater cultural understanding and cooperation in the world. His most innovative work was the nine-country exhibition Destiny 2000 which modeled how artists could replace a dialogue of resistance and oppression with one of cultural and artistic expression, creating a conversion of conflictive energy. Currently his projects include: Conflict & Capoeira: Ukraine/Slovakia, O Barrio da Paz no Fluxos Internacionais—Bahia, Brazil, and Music, Movement and Ritual Theater in Conflict Transformation at the Living Well Center for Social and Economic Vibrancy, Baltimore, MD.
