After moving to Minneapolis in the 1990s, John co-founded the Phillips Community Television (PCTV) youth media program. PCTV engaged thousands of Minneapolis young people in both in-school and out-of-school time media production, before merging with Intermedia Arts in 2009. The youth-produced television magazine program, Our Turn, was cablecast in the Twin Cities for over 15 years. In December, 2008, he began working at Migizi Communications, directing media content development for First Person Productions and training American Indian youth in media production. Mr. Gwinn is also the co-founder of the Twin Cities Youth Media Network.
