Emily Keating

Emily Keating is Director of Development and Education at the Kunhardt Film Foundation (KFF). KFF is a not-for-profit educational media organization that produces documentary films, interviews, and teaching tools about the people and ideas that shape our world. KFF was established by a family of filmmakers producing award-winning documentaries that explore issues relating to history, civics, social justice, the arts, and culture. Their films have introduced a generation of viewers to American politicians, civil rights leaders, and activists. They have explored the individuals behind social movements, revealed the inner workings of cultural institutions, and captured the significance of moral leadership. Prior to KFF, Emily was Director of Education at the Jacob Burns Film Center, where she oversaw the creation, implementation, and expansion of curriculum and professional development for 18 years. Emily has published and presented on the imperative for a redefinition of literacy and the joy and creativity of youth media at conferences around the country. Emily teaches Writing Process and Media Production and Literature and Digital Storytelling at Pace University. She holds degrees from the University of Virginia and New York University.
