Carly Short

Carly Short is a filmmaker and artist. Her work meshes personal and collective histories through the exploration of portraiture and cultural landscape. In addition to teaching at Venice Arts, Carly has taught at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston and at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Carly received her MFA at the California Institute of the Arts in 2013 and her BFA at the Massachusetts College of Art in 2007. Her films have screened nationally and internationally and have been included in: Dance on Camera Film Festival New York, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Buenos Aires Festival of Independent Cinema, Images Festival, the Boston Independent Film Festival, Mass Art Film Society and the Belvedere 21 Film Archive in Vienna and others. In 2017/2018 she was awarded Artist Residencies at both MOCA and the Echo Park Film Center.
