Salary: $110,00 yearly

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Responsible for the financial health of the school ensuring that earned and contributed income meets annual budget projections and that expenses are managed appropriately.

·         Track actuals, create monthly, cash flow projections and track scholarship awards.

·         Increases and expand earned and contributed revenue streams.

·         Forge an effective, positive and collaborative partnership with the School Artistic Director to ensure that the school stays true to its artistic vision while ensuring financial stability.

·         Drive the successful implementation of the School Strategic Plan.

·         In partnership with the Artistic Director, develop the annual budget and oversee adherence to the budget by monitoring expenditures and revenues.

·         Lead the administration team to raise the local, national, and global visibility of MCBS, establish and achieve earned revenue targets; and build new, mutually beneficial connections with the local and national arts community.

·         Oversee the creation and execution of marketing strategies to support both earned and contributed revenue and to enhance the reputation of the school. Collaborates with the marketing team on all marketing materials and website.

·         Lead the school’s development and fundraising efforts, to provide substantial growth in contributed income and in the donor base.

·         Partner with the MCB Development Department to implement fundraising strategies that will produce increased financial support for MCBS programs. The managing director will interact directly with the high-net worth parents of students, developing a positive relationship and facilitating fundraising support.

·         Oversee and confirm current policies are being followed; review, develop, and implement new policies and procedures that meet organizational needs and requirements. Including yearly revision of all school packets for each school program.

·         Create and maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships and open communication with parents and students.

·         Manage the use of the school software program, along with the school operations manager.

·         Partner with the MCBS Commmitee Chair to create impactful presentations and discussion materials for Trustee committee meetings.

·         Hire, train and manage the Housing Manager and Resident Assistants during the School Year and Summer Programs.

·         Acts as a liaison between Tradewinds and Miami City Ballet School. Coordinates the Housing Program budget and accounts payable with Housing Manager including all excursions.

·         Manages all credit card procedures for the school and provides the Finance Department with all corresponding reconciliation documentation.

·         Communicates with parents & students for difficult discussions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Experience managing a high-performing team, delivering complex programs to a broad audience.

·         High level of understanding of the balance between business and the arts, and an ability to support the artistic and pedagogic direction while balancing the financial exigencies of a nonprofit arts organization.

·         An ability to listen, to be open to artistic inclinations and ideas to offer alternative solutions.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple constituencies, which will include: faculty and other artistic staff, MCBS students and their parents, MCB Trustees, MCBS partner organizations and landlords, media representatives, and corporate and community leaders.

·         A minimum of seven years of upwardly progressive experience in education administration, non-profit management, or the performing arts.

·         An appreciation for the rigor and discipline of a pre-professional arts environment.

·         Ability to offer creative ideas, business opportunities, risks within boundaries, and a keen understanding of the environment surrounding a world class arts institution.

·         Successful track records in strategic planning, fundraising, and/or in negotiation.

·         An entrepreneurial spirit, high energy, positive attitude, and charismatic personality.

·         A commitment to demonstrable cultural competence.

·         A College or Advanced Degree is preferred

·         Bilingual ability and knowledge of ballet is highly desired.

·         Knowledge of Tessitura a plus
