The office of Career Development provides career education, resources and support to current matriculated students, alumni and employers.
Reporting to the Director of Career Development, the Career Development Manager serves as professional staff for the office of Career Development by managing the systems, events, marketing and utilizing software to its fullest capacity.
The successful candidate will establish and execute a comprehensive marketing plan, including social media platforms to brand the department and communicate services and programs.
Career Development systems currently include an employer/job listing database (Handshake), an online portfolio gallery (Behance), the MassArt Career Development website and an office Facebook page.
The Career Development Manager plays a key role in the planning and execution of Career Development programming including the annual Internship and Job Fair. Coordinates volunteers and student workers for event support.
-Manages the systems, events, marketing and utilizing software to its fullest capacity. Career Development systems currently include an employer/job listing database (Handshake), an online portfolio gallery (Behance), the MassArt Career Development website and an office Facebook page.
-The successful candidate will establish and execute a comprehensive marketing plan in conjunction with the Marketing & Communication Office, including social media platforms to brand the department and communicate programs, promote presentations, events, initiatives, opportunities and services/resources of the office. Coordinate with Career Development staff to define program goals and implementation. Create, coordinate and promote academic year workshops and events. Write and prepare general correspondence, compile data sources, and coordinate messaging including event invitations, announcements and on campus marketing.
-Develop and create career resource materials, both print and web based, to be used by students, alumni, faculty, and employers.
-Create and execute demonstrations/career related presentations for various student and alumni groups.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
-3+ years of full-time or part-time equivalent relevant experience
-Proficient in Microsoft Office and Creative Suite
-Ability to manage social media presence
Effectively multitask and manage a variety of projects to meet deadlines
-Knowledge of Higher Education and the college student experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Combination of academic and practical experience, and interpersonal skills, required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position in a professional manner.
-Ability to multitask and prioritize information effectively, work individually as well as a member of a team, adapt to a changing work environment, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills. Ability to think strategically and creatively.
-Ability to successfully complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.
-Ability to learn, use and implement new technologies
-Ability to understand and communicate to a visual audience
-Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve for event planning, online systems and technology
-Event planning experience preferred
-Design skills (Creative Suite) and visual communication skills preferred
