CALIFORNIA DOCUMENTARY PROJECT
Grant funding for film, audio and digital documentaries
Deadline: November 1, 2019
California is a state of almost 40 million people and just as many stories. California Humanities invites proposals for the 2019 California Documentary Project (CDP) grant program that tell these stories from every corner of the state and that explore California in all its complexity. We seek compelling film, audio and digital media projects that reflect a broad cross-section of Californians’ stories; bring new and previously unheard perspectives to light; and help reveal the breadth and range of California’s cultures, peoples and histories. Shorts, podcasts, web series, features (and more) are all eligible. California residency is not a requirement for eligibility.
Funding is available in two categories:
• Research and Development Grants up to $10,000
• Production Grants up to $50,000
