Double Exposure Film Festival and Symposium, the nation’s first and only festival dedicated to investigative storytelling on film, is seeking a festival manager for the fifth anniversary edition, taking place October 10-13, 2019, in Washington, DC.
The festival manager shoulders broad responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of a festival with many moving parts, from organizing travel and hospitality for dozens of speakers, to coordinating the printing of the festival catalogue, to tracking deliverables for sponsors and partners, and much more. The ideal candidate will have a love of film and/or investigative journalism, excellent organizational and diplomatic skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and with others.
Double Exposure is the flagship project of 100Reporters, a news organization that marries the standards, skills and ethics of traditional journalism to the new media landscape. It gathers a corps of award-winning journalists and those in places that do not tolerate a free press to report on corruption and hold government accountable.
The festival’s goal is to build public awareness of investigative reporting not only for an informed citizenry, but as a driver of culture. Double Exposure pairs this outward looking festival with a symposium tailored to the needs of journalists and visual storytellers who focus on investigative inquiry. The symposium offers an array of panel discussions, master classes, hands-on workshops, pre-arranged meetings with industry insiders, pitch sessions, a pro bono legal clinic and much more.
This is a seasonal contract position, running from June 1 to October 30, 2019. For more information and to apply, visit the website posting.
