Brown Girls Mythic + True Story Gallery
Entering through a hall of music, lined with life-sized interactive Afro Tarot Cards by artist Jessi Jumanji, visitors will explore multiple extraordinary spaces full of myth + documentary, truth and fantasy — stories from past, present and future. Virtual workshops in storytelling, filmmaking, photography, game development, and sound design will be available to help visitors become collaborators, makers + producers. There will also be an open gallery/cinema space for rotating exhibitions and screenings, community-curated shows and performances by women artists from around the world.
The curatorial team is still in formation, and currently includes Afua Kafi-Afua, International Center of Photography, Chanelle Elaine, Creative Bionics, Valentina Vargas, Colombian filmmaker + producer, Kali Spitzer, Indigenous/Canadian photographer.
We are seeking additional curators, writers, a project manager and BIPOC technologists familiar with Unreal Engine, Unity and online creative course development. Come join us! Please direct inquiries to Executive Director Wendy Levy, firstname.lastname@example.org.
