Chicken & Egg Pictures is seeking a Program & Partnerships Manager to join our small and growing program team, supporting women nonfiction filmmakers globally at all stages of their careers and filmmaking.

The Program & Partnerships Manager will have an integral role in several of our soon-to-be-launched programs in support of our goal to provide creative, professional, and financial support to filmmakers at strategic junctures in their careers, including a program that supports the funding and production of shorts and short films series; and another that provides completion grants for feature-length films, combined with coaching and mentorship for the filmmaker.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a mid-level managerial position. Reporting to the Director of Programs, and working closely with every member of the team, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage the shorts and short films series program, including overseeing the selection process and coordinating with partners and filmmakers on deliverables and deadlines.
- Identify, build, and nurture partnerships for production, distribution, and funding for the shorts and short film series program.
- Oversee process for selection of filmmaker participants in the completion fund program.
- Facilitate connections between festival contacts and completion fund program participants; and provide strategic guidance to filmmakers on film completion, festival launching, outreach, and distribution.
Partnerships and Networks
- Open doors to supported filmmakers to increase their access to resources and opportunities by connecting them with potential funders, partners, and networks.
- Represent Chicken & Egg Pictures at film markets and forums, and initiate and build industry relationships and collaboration.
- Engage funders and prospective donors in our work at individual meetings and special events to help raise funds for the organization.
Additional responsibilities, depending on profile of incumbent
- Contribute to the development of program curriculum, identify and invite guest experts, and facilitate workshop sessions with program team colleagues.
- Review applications and participate in the selection process for other Chicken & Egg Pictures programs, as needed.
- Mentor filmmakers and provide feedback on their film cuts.
- Other projects and tasks, as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE
You bring the following knowledge and experience:
1. Production Chops: You have directed or produced one or more nonfiction films (feature-length, shorts, and/or short series) and have up-to-date knowledge of funding and distribution opportunities.
2. Film and Media Industry: You have experience building fruitful relationships and partnerships in the nonfiction film and media field, in the US and internationally, and will bring your extensive industry networks to the work.
3. Film Funding: You are knowledgeable about the current film funding landscape, and you have experience and comfort with fundraising.
4. Artistic Sensibility: You have developed a keen eye for reviewing, selecting, and providing feedback on a range of film and media projects.
5. Mentoring and Coaching: You know how to and enjoy mentoring and coaching other filmmakers through their production and creative storytelling challenges; and you have experience teaching and/or facilitating group workshops.
6. Shorts and Series: Ideally, you have experience in the short films and films series field, including up-to-date knowledge on funding and distribution opportunities.

1. Project management ability: You are adept at simultaneously managing multiple projects. This is, in part, thanks to your attention to detail, follow-through, anticipation of obstacles, and prioritization skills. You are tech savvy and can quickly learn new tools and platforms. You have excellent judgement, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills, and you love learning new ways to be more efficient.
2. Communication and interpersonal skills: You are also adept at public speaking, including on panels and in front of audiences of donors or filmmakers. You consider relationship-building with a diverse range of people to be one of your strongest talents. Among the traits that make you a valuable team member are your sense of humor, initiative, warmth, and flexibility.
3. Work ethic and style: You bring your strong work ethic and ambitious “can-do” attitude to every project. A life-long learner, you are curious and value a diversity of thought, background, and perspective.
The Program & Partnerships Manager is willing to occasionally travel and attend organizational activities on evenings and weekends.

WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW
Start date: Early January 2019

Location: It is strongly preferred for this position to be based in Brooklyn with the majority of the team, but exceptional candidates based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with a willingness to travel, may be considered.
Work Environment: Chicken & Egg Pictures’ main office is located in Brooklyn, NY and is shared with other film industry companies in a bright, open plan office. A satellite office is located in San Francisco, CA. Occasional travel may be required, with advance notice.
Compensation: Compensation is competitive and we offer an exceptional benefits package.
Physical Demands: No unusual physical requirements. Nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. The job requires the ability to see information in print and electronically.
